Stay of Removal for Guatemalans and Salvadorans

The stay of removal for Guatemalans and Salvadorans is set to expire on March 8, 1999. The Administration has evaluated the situation on the ground in both countries and has concluded that they are both capable of beginning to receive their nationals. INS does not, however, have any plans to conduct mass deportations of Guatemalans and Salvadorans.
