U.S. INS Drops San Antonio Removal Cases

Bo Cooper, the INS General Counsel, has advised that the Orders to Show Cause in connection with the INS' raid on an Air Force facility in San Antonio have been withdrawn and INS will not pursue removal. In that raid, INS detained a group of individuals under H-1B status with contractor companies, charging that that the underlying petitions did not list the San Antonio worksite. Mr. Cooper indicated that INS has not yet decided whether it will move to revoke the H-1B petitions.
