Subject: Manila Appointment System - Temporary Worker Visas

1. Please pass the following information to AILA and other interested parties.

2. Until now, manila accepted petition based nonimmigrant visa cases (H,L,O,P) on a walk-in basis on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.

3. Effective Monday, December 6, manila will interview petition based temporary worker (H,L,O,P) applicants by appointment only. Applicants in the Philippines should call the NIV appointment line, 1-909-101-0000 to book an appointment for an interview.

4. Manila requires applicants to present an original I-797, notice of approval, as well as a copy of the I-129 petition and supporting documents as submitted to the immigration and naturalization service, at the time of application.

5. Currently, there is approximately a three-week wait for an appointment. We anticipate this wait will lengthen through December. Applicants and attorneys should be advised that rather than wait for receipt of the I-797 before booking the appointment, applicants may wish to book in anticipation of receipt. If necessary they can call back and delay the appointment.
