Good news, bad news

Good news first. San Francisco is almost fully operational. They will be working overtime nights and weekends, beginning this weekend, to process the backlog of LCAs. They predict they can clear up the backlog within 3 weeks. If there are any glitches during this period, Jim Norris said he will ship the LCAs out to other regions. The other regions have already been put on notice that this might occur.

Bad news. Permanent labor cert cases are suffering. (We know this.) They will not get to those cases until the LCA backlog is cleared up. On the brighter side: The automated system for the East Coast is just about ready to go. Watch for details early next week. We'll be getting the new fax number from DOL. In the meantime, you can download the new LCA form from the DOL Web Site. They predict that the West Coast will be automated in three weeks, at which time they will concentrate on labor certifications.
